CREATING VALUE-ADDED PRIORITIES
The Merry-Go-Round of Work
I have conducted this exercise with many managers and leaders of all levels in various types of businesses and organizations. It is an eye-opener with serious implications, and the realization is always the same: Most of us expend a lot of time and energy doing things that really aren’t as valuable to the business as they could be. We become caught up in the daily merry-go-round of work - up and down, round and round - without pausing to really examine what we are doing and why.
This exercise is not difficult, but it does require sincere examination and a willingness to commit to making the changes necessary to be a more effective, efficient manager and a more engaged, focused leader. With a new profound sense of clarity, clients feel less stressed, less confused, gain a renewed sense of motivation and a greater sense of fulfillment as a professional.
Prioritizing
The purpose of prioritizing is to increase the value (impact on business) of what you do by examining what you are doing presently and then making the appropriate changes. This is a four-step exercise that requires defining the value of making those changes.
A work folder with all necessary templates and forms is provided to guide the leader through the exercise. I will coach you as you work through each step of the exercise. This usually requires two to three meetings in between your self-paced assignments.
